History of HCSU

Name

The Social Union of Haitian Christian Evangelical Laymen of New England Inc. is known as the Haitian Christian Social Union or HCSU.

The organization was formed 2015 following discussions among Haitian laymen and pastors about the need for an organization to advance the aspirations, social engagement, and community involvement of Boston area Haitian Christians.

HCSU has a board of directors, adopted by-laws, and is incorporated as a non-profit in January 2016.

Discussions with Haitian laymen in various Greater Boston congregatons reveal a hunger for more fellowship, community service, cultural, and spiritual opportunities than they currently receive through their churches alone. That is what directly led to the planning and formation of HCSU.
